Der aktuelle Rekord\u00a0steht nun bei 2,112 Millionen Quadratkilometer \u00fcber dem Normalwert. Der alte Rekord von 1,840 Millionen Quadratkilometer stammte vom 20. Dezember 2007.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-938 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wetter-center.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/screen-shot-2014-07-01-at-10-04-45-pm.png\" alt=\"Meereis in der Antarktis\" width=\"313\" height=\"229\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wetter-center.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/screen-shot-2014-07-01-at-10-04-45-pm.png 313w, https:\/\/www.wetter-center.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/screen-shot-2014-07-01-at-10-04-45-pm-300x219.png 300w, https:\/\/www.wetter-center.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/screen-shot-2014-07-01-at-10-04-45-pm-205x150.png 205w, https:\/\/www.wetter-center.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/screen-shot-2014-07-01-at-10-04-45-pm-150x109.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 313px) 100vw, 313px\" \/>Rechnet man das Meereis der Nord- und S\u00fcdhalbkugel zusammen, ergibt sich damit eine globale positive Anomalie von etwa 1 Millionen Quadratkilometern. Die\u00a0Abbildung links zeigt die Entwicklung des Meereises in der Antarktis seit dem Beginn der Satellitenmessungen im Jahre 1979 (Quelle: <a href=\"http:\/\/arctic.atmos.uiuc.edu\/cryosphere\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Cryosphere Today<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Man erkennt hier deutlich den\u00a0langfristigen Anstieg des Meereises, insbesondere aber auch den starken Anstieg seit dem Jahre 2011.
