Diese Behauptung wird ebenso wenig durch wissenschaftliche Fakten gest\u00fctzt, wie die Behauptungen, dass es immer mehr <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wetter-center.de\/blog\/?p=634\">Hurrikane<\/a> oder <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wetter-center.de\/blog\/?p=484\" target=\"_blank\">au\u00dfertropische St\u00fcrme<\/a> gibt.<\/p>\n<p>Die folgende Abbildung zeigt die Anzahl der in den USA registrierten Tornados im Zeitraum 1950 bis 2010 (Quelle: <a style=\"font-size: 1em; line-height: 1.3em;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wunderground.com\/blog\/JeffMasters\/comment.html?entrynum=2415\" target=\"_blank\">Wunderblog<\/a>\/<a style=\"font-size: 1em; line-height: 1.3em;\" href=\"http:\/\/journals.ametsoc.org\/doi\/full\/10.1175\/BAMS-D-11-00262.1\" target=\"_blank\">Kunkel et. al.<\/a>):<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 470px;\" title=\"Tornados 1950 bis 2012\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wetter-center.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/tornadoes1950-2012.jpg\" alt=\"Tornados 1950 bis 2012\" width=\"470\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Die blaue Linie ist die Anzahl der schwachen Tornados der St\u00e4rke 0 auf der <a href=\"http:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fujita-Skala\">Fujita-Skala<\/a>. Die roten Punkte sind die Anzahl der Tornados der St\u00e4rke 1 und h\u00f6her (ab Windst\u00e4rke 12 oder 117 km\/h).<\/p>\n<p>Die blaue Linie zeigt einen deutlichen Anstieg der beobachteten schwachen Tornados, die aber keine gr\u00f6\u00dferen Sch\u00e4den verursachen. Die Gr\u00fcnde daf\u00fcr sind aber haupts\u00e4chlich die gestiegene Bev\u00f6lkerungsdichte sowie die Fortschritte in der Wetterradar-Technik, die beide zu einer besseren Beobachtung f\u00fchrten.<\/p>\n<p>Die Anzahl der st\u00e4rken Tornados zeigt dagegen keine steigende Tendenz. Forscher fanden allerdings heraus, dass die Variabilit\u00e4t der Tornadoaktivit\u00e4t von Jahr zu Jahr zunimmt. Jahre mit vielen Tornados (2011) werden gefolgt von Jahren mit wenigen (2012).
