Bei dem Projekt namens &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.eol.ucar.edu\/projects\/dc3\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Deep Convective Clouds and Chemistry Project (DC3)<\/strong><\/a>&#8221; haben die drei Forschungsinstitute jeweils ein Flugzeug im Einsatz.<\/p>\n<p>Dabei soll vor allem genauer gemessen werden, wie <strong>Stickoxide<\/strong> in die obere Atmosph\u00e4re transportiert werden. Stickoxide entstehen einerseits am Boden, andererseits aber auch bei Blitzschl\u00e4gen und spielen eine wichtige Rolle bei der Entstehung von Ozon. Das folgende Bild zeigt schematisch die beteiligten Flugzeuge und Ger\u00e4te (Quelle: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eol.ucar.edu\/projects\/dc3\/\" target=\"_blank\">NCAR<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wetter-center.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/dc3-schematic-overview_7.jpg\" alt=\"DC3 Experiment\" width=\"470\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Die &#8220;<strong>Golfstream-V<\/strong>&#8221; des NCAR wird dabei die chemische Zusammensetzung, die Strahlungsbedingungen sowie die Verteilung von Wolkentr\u00f6pfchen- und -eiskristallen im und nahe des Amboss-Bereichs einer Gewitterwolke messen. Die &#8220;<strong>Falcon 20<\/strong>&#8221; des DLR unterst\u00fctzt die Golfstream-V mit Messungen von Spurengasen. Beide Flugzeugen sollen auch die Ver\u00e4nderung der chemischen Zusammensetzung der Luft im Abwindbereich untersuchen.<\/p>\n<p>Die &#8220;<strong>DC-8<\/strong>&#8221; der NASA wird im Einstr\u00f6mbereich nahe der Wolkenuntergrenze fliegen und dort die Zusammensetzung der Luft bestimmen. Desweiteren kommen <strong>Wetterradarger\u00e4te<\/strong> zum Einsatz, um die Verteilung von Niederschlag, Windgeschwindigkeit und -richtung dreidimensional zu erfassen. Ein <strong>Blitzortungsnetzwerk<\/strong> liefert zudem wichtige Daten, um den Einfluss von Blitzen auf die chemischen Ver\u00e4nderungen der Luft absch\u00e4tzen zu k\u00f6nnen. Au\u00dferdem werden <strong>Radiosonden<\/strong> eingesetzt, um Vertikalprofile atmosph\u00e4rischer Parameter zu erfassen.<\/p>\n<p>Die Messungen werden in drei Regionen durchgef\u00fchrt: im Nordosten <strong>Colorados<\/strong>, von West-<strong>Texas<\/strong> bis <strong>Oklahoma<\/strong> sowie im Norden <strong>Alabamas<\/strong>. Damit wollen die Forscher verschiedene Arten von <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wetter-center.de\/blog\/?p=420\">Gewittern<\/a> sowie verschiedene Grenzschichtbedingungen erfassen.
