Norwegische Forscher des Geophysikalischen Instituts der Universit\u00e4t Bergen haben herausgefunden<\/a>, dass wahrscheinlich nicht der Klimwandel<\/a> hauptverantwortlich f\u00fcr den R\u00fcckgang des Meereises in der Arktis <\/a>ist, sondern eine Ver\u00e4nderung der atmosph\u00e4rischen Zirkulation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"Eisb\u00e4r\"Seit dem Jahr 2000 ist das Meereis in der Arktis dramatisch zur\u00fcckgegangen<\/strong>, viel st\u00e4rker noch als es die Klimamodelle berechneten. Einige Experten erwarten jetzt schon, dass das Nordpolarmeer<\/a> in 20 Jahren im Sommer eisfrei<\/strong> sein wird.<\/p>\n

Doch m\u00f6glicherweise wird das nicht der Fall sein. Denn im Jahr 2000 haben sich die Verteilung der Luftdruckgebiete und damit die atmosph\u00e4rischen Zirkulationsmuster in der Arktis deutlich ver\u00e4ndert. W\u00e4hrend vorher f\u00fcr die Winde \u00fcber dem Nordpolarmeer entscheidend war, ob sich \u00fcber dem Nordatlantik <\/strong>und dem Nordpazifik <\/strong>ein Hoch- oder Tiefdruckgebiet befand, bestimmt jetzt das Druckgebiet \u00fcber Nordsibirien <\/strong>die Winde \u00fcber der Arktis.<\/p>\n

Das Ergebnis: Der Wind dr\u00fcckt meist das Meereis entlang der Ostk\u00fcste Gr\u00f6nlands<\/a> aus dem Nordpolarmeer heraus<\/strong> und das Eis kann schneller schmelzen. Die Ausdehnung des Meereises ist also haupts\u00e4chlich davon abh\u00e4ngig, wie die Winde in der Arktis wehen. Der Einfluss des Klimawandels<\/strong> ist dem allerdings \u00fcberlagert.
